
ONLINE DIPLOMA
MANAGEMENT OF
HIGHER EDUCATION INTERNATIONALIZATION AND GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP FOR
LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN

The UNESCO Chair on Internationalization of Higher Education and Global Citizenship at the University of Guadalajara (UdeG), the Mexican Association for International Education (AMPEI), the National Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions (ANUIES), the Latin American Initiative for the Internationalization of Higher Education (INILAT), and Santander Group offer an online diploma course on the Management of Higher Education Internationalization and Global Citizenship, tailored to the realities of the Latin America and Caribbean region and taught by world-renowned experts.
Objectives
The diploma provides professional training and updating on the conceptualization, design, development, and implementation of comprehensive and transversal strategies and policies for the internationalization of higher education, aligned with the core functions of higher education institutions (HEIs) in the region, in order to:
- Strengthen institutional capacity in managing a comprehensive internationalization process.
- Design strategies and identify good practices for developing a comprehensive internationalization process.
- Promote education for sustainable development and global citizenship education .
- Foster intra- and inter-regional collaborative networks.
Participants
The diploma is aimed at staff from higher education institutions, particularly those in international offices, as well as academics and students interested in higher education.
The minimum group size is 20 participants,with a maximum of 40.
Academic Model
The program is delivered 100% online. Contents and materials are available on the UdeG Moodle platform. Participants attend synchronous online lectures and engage in asynchronous discussion forums.
The program consists of a general introduction (3 hours); 11 units (121 hours), delivered with two units per week; and a final project focused on the design of an internationalization strategy for a higher education institution (30 hours). The diploma will take place from September 1 to October 13, 2026.
